Winter

wilted lilies -
tears for a memory
no longer shared

struggle on a branch -
a leaf slowly falls
and feathers

silent churchyard -
the bell chimes stolen
by horses

dangerous path -
an ancient tree felled 
for its roots

heating crisis -
the rough twist of metal
on glass

frozen in fear -
the glass lake
spiderwebs

forgotten graveyard -
the lonely dead tormented
by a grinning moon

shivering snow -
the waiting owl
swoops

chattering skulls twice
echo through a lifeless wood -
a woodpecker hunts
