Spring

dawn garden sundered
black glass smothers spring's first breath
violent rebirth

pale blossom quivers
in the shadow of rage -
scarlet memory

neglected garden -
bees visit blossoming weeds
as they would flowers

violent hue commands
limelight before ashen skies -
one purple orchid

swans teach soft cygnets
to fend for themselves – gifted
bread by young children

a sudden darkness -
water continues to fall
cast in hidden light

black river boils as
vapours spring to banish ghosts -
breathe in the spirits

twilight sentinel -
new blood eclipses old life
while the moon blossoms
